This oneshot was released by TZA on May 22, 2017. A kind of unique manga involving a cat-like sword-wielding demon who works together with a young boy to thwart another demon who’s been causing mischief in the town. Each has their own motive, but alone they can’t hope to beat him.

No, the title isn’t misspelled. The original manga is called (with an alternate pronunciation) 「歪の半神」 “Hizumi no Dual”, and to avoid spoiling the plot, we’ll just say it refers to the two main characters. This was one of the first manga where I was presented with different options for the terms to be used throughout the story; I ultimately went with the easiest-to-understand translations to avoid confusion. While I’m confident in my work, the proofreaders did an excellent job adjusting words to make sure we found the most natural sentences for the final product. This is the 2nd in a list of oneshots I’m helping TZA get done, hope you like it!
This first chapter of Volume 2 was released by GRS on May 19, 2017. (To copy/paste the synopsis:) this series is a comedy about a mermaid with temporary legs who must have sex with a human to avoid turning into a merMAN (due to a magic potion she took). Thing is, whenever she tries to get intimate with the guy she likes, her legs spontaneously transform back into flippers.

These chapters are short enough to do in a day, and for a while, I was indeed dishing out scripts daily. Once I got far enough ahead, I put it on hold. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until just yesterday that I discovered that Shoujo Sense wasn’t made aware that the scripts for chapters 20-24 were already up, so there’s been a delay in getting them done. From now on, though, these chapters should see a regular release. Look forward to that!
A short chapter released by Golden Roze & Shoujo Sense on May 12, 2017. It was an extra chapter at the end of volume 1 that had originally appeared in the shounen magazine, “Bessatsu”. The series is a comedy about a mermaid with temporary legs who must have sex with a human to avoid turning into a merMAN (due to a magic potion she took). Thing is, whenever she tries to get intimate with the guy she likes, her legs spontaneously transform back into flippers.

Before this mini-project appeared, I was offered to do Pink Mermaid Volume 2 to continue where the previous translator had left off. At the time, for a week or so I had committed to translating a chapter a day of volume 2. It was a fun sort of little challenge I had set for myself to see how consistent I could be in putting out material, and it seemed to go well. Once I pulled far enough ahead, however, I put it on hold to focus on other projects.
For now, a number of chapters from volume 2 are still awaiting typesetting and I can’t wait till their release. Look forward to when those come out!
This oneshot was released by The Zero Alliance on May 10, 2017. It’s a short but sweet manga about a couple kids in a world where words actually create physical knives, stabbing the people they’re used against.

My first oneshot with TZA! When they sent me “Koto no Ha” I had no idea what to expect, but I felt a need to prove myself and double- and triple-checked my work. There’s not much to note about this oneshot; the group offered a lot of feedback and it turned out great!
Volume 1 (Chapters 1 & 2) released by Golden Roze Scans and Fallen Syndicate on April 16, 2017. An adorable series about a girl who has a crush on a boy that loves cooking for her (especially sweets). She’s self-conscious about her weight but she struggles to turn down his food. Can she have both the figure she wants AND the love of her crush?
This is one I actually suggested to Golden Roze and luckily a lot of people were on board! It’s currently my favorite series to translate; the art and feel-good atmosphere are a joy to read.
There’s actually an error on the very first sentence… it should say “Mochihara”, but I had written “Michihara” as a typo… but in my defense, “Michihara” sounds more like a name than the former. I did a quality check on it, but it had already been uploaded to both sites! Oh, well. I’m still pretty happy with how it turned out, and it spawned the phrase that probably is too weird to continue using: “I wanna make it my baby”. I started using it to refer to manga that hasn’t been translated at all by other groups, and therefore leaves the manga completely under my responsibility. It’s really fulfilling to see these projects get completed because it feels like I really made a difference.
This crossover was released on March 30, 2017 by Golden Roze Scans. This crosses the universe of Kochikame, the manga with the most volumes ever (200 volumes), and the universe of Golgo 13, the oldest running manga still in publication.

I had never heard of either of these series, but I had a lot of fun writing this one. Debated whether I needed to translate the front page with Saito’s comments, but because I was so excited, I did it anyway.
